About Luna Cat
Luna Cat is deeply invested in queer/camp photography, exploring themes that challenge norms and celebrate diversity. Predominately studio-based, they skilfully manipulate light and form to capture the essence of their subjects. Through their art, they explore identity, sexuality, vulnerability, playfulness, performance, and shape—celebrating the multifaceted nature of existence. Their work stands as a testament to the belief that art has the power to challenge, provoke, and foster understanding.
Luna holds a Bachelor of Documentary Photography from Griffith University and a Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology. Their work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions, including Obscure/Haircut (2024) and several queer-focused projects such as Queer/Here and Queer Femme Lounge, reflecting their dedication to queer representation in art. They also collaborated on a campaign for Children By Choice, addressing trans and gender-diverse reproductive health.

Recognised for their contributions, Luna won first place at the 2024 Queer/Here exhibition hosted by Brisbane Pride Festival and QCAD and secured second place at the Tropical Fruits Festival Art Show, 2023. They are an active photographer, performer, and activist within the Meanjin LGBTQI+SB community.
